Meet the Trainers

Call

Phil Rogers is a passionate person about all the things he loves: his wife Debbie, his children Zach, Kristin, and Jacob, outdoor sports, and sharing the love of Jesus Christ with young people. Phil grew up in southern Arizona, played football for Nebraska, and worked at Citibank until he felt a call to ministry in 2000. Phil has served as the Youth Pastor at St. Paul's UMC in Cedar Rapids since 2003, and has been a Pastor of Youth there since 2000.

Sheryll Untiedt has spent almost all of her life living in the area where she currently serves in ministry. In 2001 she sold her tax and accounting business to pursue ministry full time, and she was the Youth Pastor at Shueyville UMC from 2001-2006. Sheryll continues to serve at Shueyville as an Associate Pastor and will always have a heart for youth. She enjoys reading and learning new things and is always looking for opportunities to grow. Helping others see the love of Christ is her main mission in life.

Julie Stone worked on staff and as a volunteer in youth ministry beginning in 2000 at Walnut Hills United Methodist Church in Urbandale. In 2004 she felt called to take the position of  Director of Youth Ministries. She is a graduate of Drake University and was on the design team for the last Academy for Youth Ministry. Julie and her husband Gary are parents to two grown daughters, Chelsea and Kelli.

Barb Mittman is the Youth and Shelter Services of Eastern Story County Director and a Full Deacon in the Iowa Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Call

Tim Gossett is the coordinator of TRAX and will also fill in from time to time as a trainer. Tim is the co-founder of DifferentVoice.com, a website for progressive Christian educators, and an author of several youth ministry books. He lives in Ames, and wrote much of the curriculum for TRAX.
